Thanks. He definitely cares about his reputation and that's why he threatens to disown his nephew. But that's a pretty extreme step to threaten--a simpler thing to do if his nephew lets him down is just to send him ashore and cut his naval ties with him. Edward can probably find something else to do if he quits the navy as a teenager.
